Namrup College of Teacher Education was established to provide quality professional preparation for aspiring school teachers in Assam and neighbouring regions.

A Message from the Head of the Institution
Welcome to Namrup College of Teacher Education (CTE Namrup). Situated near the serene foothills of the Patkai range and amidst the industrious rhythm of Upper Assam, our institution was established in 1997 with a clear and enduring mission: to elevate the standard of school education across Assam and Northeast India by nurturing secondary school teachers of exceptional character, scholarly competence, and empathetic vision.
Teaching is not simply an occupation; it is a transformative civic calling and a vital social responsibility. In a rapidly evolving world marked by technological advancements, knowledge explosion, and shifting societal needs, the role of a teacher extends far beyond transcribing syllabi. An authentic educator must be a mentor who instils critical inquiry, a guide who nurtures moral integrity, and a compassionate role model who unlocks the unique potential inherent within every child.
Our two-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) curriculum, recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (ERC-NCTE) and affiliated to Dibrugarh University, is intentionally structured to bridge foundational educational philosophy with rigorous, school-based practice. Through structured internships in collaborating secondary schools, micro-teaching laboratories, psychological testing, and contemporary ICT integration, our trainees acquire the pedagogical mastery and confidence required to excel in modern classrooms while embracing the inclusive, multidisciplinary tenets of the National Education Policy (NEP 2020).
At CTE Namrup, we believe that pedagogical excellence flourishes within a holistic institutional ecosystem.
