B.Ed Admission Details

Two-Year B.Ed. Programme (Session 2026–28)
Namrup College of Teacher Education conducts the Two-Year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programme affiliated to Dibrugarh University and recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Admission is conducted strictly through the Dibrugarh University B.Ed. Common Entrance Test (CET) merit list.
Eligibility Criteria for Admission to the Two-Year B.Ed. Program
Candidates should have at least 50% aggregate marks in a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Sciences, Social Sciences, Humanities or Commerce.
Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology specialising in Science or Mathematics should have at least 55% marks.
The qualifying degree must be from Dibrugarh University or any other recognised university.
Candidates who have 50% or more in Major/Honours but less than 50% in the overall aggregate are not considered eligible.
Applicants must appear in the B.Ed. Common Entrance Test (B.Ed. CET) conducted by Dibrugarh University for that academic session.
Relaxation of Marks
A relaxation of 5% in qualifying marks may be given to candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, MOBC and PwD categories, as per norms.
In-service teachers with at least five years of teaching experience in schools recognised by the Board of Secondary Education, Assam may also get 5% relaxation.
A candidate can claim relaxation under only one category; multiple relaxations cannot be combined.
Seat Reservation Policy
A major share of total seats is reserved for candidates who completed their qualifying degree from institutions affiliated to Dibrugarh University (currently 85%).
Statutory reservation is applicable for SC, ST (Plains and Hills), OBC/MOBC and PwD categories as per prevailing guidelines.
Selection Procedure
Selection for admission is based on performance in the B.Ed. Common Entrance Test conducted by Dibrugarh University and other prescribed components.
The college follows the merit list and guidelines issued by the university for each academic session.
